Radish paratha/mooli paratha/easy paratha recipe

 Radish paratha/mooli paratha /punjabi style mooli paratha 



Radish Paratha is a Punjabi recipe and hot parathas are very tasty in winter. Parathas are made in many ways. Radish parathas are made from grated radish and wheat flour.  Stuffing and other grated radish and spices are kneaded in flour, today we will make radish parathas by filling stuffing in parathas. To make these, grate radish and then heat oil in a pan.Add onion paste and fry, then add radish to it and mix dry spices, red chili powder, salt and coriander powder. Now cook radish on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Stuffing is ready.  Apply ghee on both sides and roast these parathas, they are rich in calcium and vitamins. You can also put them in tiffin and serve the parathas with curd, pickle or vegetable of your choice.

Ingredients for radish paratha

.Grated Radish

. 1onion finely chopped

.Ginger Garlic Paste

.1/2 tsp cumin

.1 green chili finely chopped

.1/4 tsp turmeric powder

.1/2 tsp red chili powder

.1/2 tsp coriander powder

salt as per taste

.finely chopped coriander

.Oil

Ghee for roasting the parathas

Radish paratha recipe

First wash and peel the radishes and grate them

 Squeeze out the radish water by pressing it with hands.

.Now take wheat flour in a big utensil and add 1/4th teaspoon of salt to the flour and mix it well and knead a soft dough by adding little water to the flour.

.Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes

. Now heat oil in a pan, when the oil becomes hot, add half a teaspoon of cumin and fry it.

When the cumin turns light brown, add ginger garlic paste and fry it.

.Now add finely chopped onion and one turn chopped green chili and cook till the onion turns brown.

 Now add grated radish and mix it

.Now add half a teaspoon red chili powder, a quarter teaspoon turmeric powder, half a teaspoon coriander powder and salt to the radish and mix, cook the radish for 4 to 5 minutes on low flame.

.When the radish water dries well, turn off the gas and add finely chopped green coriander and mix it, stuffing for parathas is ready.

.The dough has been kept for 10 minutes, now knead the dough once again

.Break a ball size dough out of the dough and roll it into a round shape.

.Sprinkle dry flour over the dough and roll out the paratha. Apply ghee on the paratha.

.Now put the stuffing in the middle of the paratha with a spoon and close it by folding it upwards.

.Sprinkle a little dry flour again on top of the paratha and roll it lightly.

.Heat the griddle and put the paratha on it and let the paratha cook, keep the flame low.

.When the paratha is cooked from one side, turn it over and apply ghee on it.

.When the paratha gets cooked from the other side, turn it again and apply ghee, in the same way roast the paratha well by turning it over and prepare all the parathas.

.When all the parathas are ready, serve them with chutney, pickle or your favorite vegetable.

Radish paratha step by step with photo

.First of all wash, peel and grate the radish and squeeze out the water by pressing it with your hands.



.Now put wheat flour in a big utensil, add salt to the flour and mix it and add little water to the flour and knead a soft dough.



  . Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes



.Now heat oil in a pan, when the oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and fry it, add ginger garlic paste and fry it.



 

.Now add finely chopped onions and finely chopped green chilies and cook till the onions turn brown.



  

.Now add grated radish and mix it



 

 .Now put half a teaspoon red chili powder, a quarter teaspoon turmeric powder, half a teaspoon coriander powder and salt as per taste in radish and tell it on low flame for 4 to 5 minutes.



.When the water of radish dries well, turn off the gas and mix finely chopped coriander leaves in it. Stuffing is ready to be filled in the paratha.



  

.Now take ball size dough from the dough and make it round.


 


 .Sprinkle dry flour over the dough and roll the paratha.

  


 .Spread ghee on the paratha



  

.Now put the stuffing on it with a spoon

  


.Holding the corners of the paratha, fold it upwards and close it.


  

.  Now sprinkle dry flour again and roll the paratha.

 .  Put the paratha on a hot griddle and roast the paratha on one side.

  


 .  When the paratha gets cooked from one side, turn it over and apply ghee on it.

  


 .Now flip the paratha from the other side and apply ghee, just like this flip the paratha from both the sides and apply ghee and roast it on low flame.

 

 


  .  Radish parathas are ready, now serve them with curd pickle chutney.


  Tips

.You can also make radish parathas by kneading grated radish and spices in flour.

.Roast the parathas on low flame, this will make them crispy.

.Don't fill the stuffing too much in the paratha

.Lastly, serve the parathas with your favorite vegetable pickle or chutney.
